Try your hand at hot glass, working with a flame more than 1,000 degrees Celsius, we start with simple exercises to learn about the hot glass process. Participants experience the fluidity of glass, how to add colours and different decorative techniques.
The glass making sessions starts with basic instruction about how to operate the equipment, followed by the first hot glass exercised, then onto bead making and finally finishing and assembling. Gaining a fundamental understanding of glassmaking is our aim. Learning about a new material is an exciting experience seeing the varieties of colour combinations possible.
Note:
- All materials for glassmaking workshop are supplied
- Your artworks can be brought home with you on the day
- Premade samples assist participants with the design and glassmaking process
- Participants must wear closed toed shoes and preferable casual clothes to work in the outdoor workshop
- Participants must wear glasses to protect their eyes
